AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT

Thursday, March 21, 2013

So, we made it through the bachelor party weekend with few issues.  Gracie threw up, Dad had no dinner, Emma almost ate a tulip.  All things that were worked out in the end.

Emma is still working on her bottom tooth.  I don't know how long those things take to come in, but at this rate, she'll have teeth by college.  By Sunday, she was in rare form, just bursting into whiny tears and fits at the drop of a hat.  I had no clue what to do, so I drove us to Harris Teeter.  We rode around in the cart and picked up a chicken.  We got back into the car and the whinyness started again.  One of us needed medication and I didn't care who got it at that point.  Fortunately it was almost bedtime and I was more than ready to stick her in the crib for an extended period of time.  I guess she was just unhappy with the state of the world.

She got her flu shot booster on Monday and then I returned her to school so that I could enjoy Grey's Anatomy in peace.  The teachers called and said she was burning up and fussy, so off I went to get her.  She was fine.  She was just fussy and made herself hot, poor kid.  After several conversations with the pediatrician's office, and some stress that the kid was sick - again - I hauled her off home fine and ready for some milk and mommy time.  Thank goodness I already watched my tv show...

I am increasingly getting tired of pumping milk.  I feel like a cow getting ready to bottle milk for the grocery store.  It makes me tired and I am tired of getting up all hours of the night to milk myself.  It's neither comfortable or fun.  David reminds me of how much we're saving in formula costs.  And so...

Other things I've noted this week:

- the hot water button at work shoots out a little coffee too, and it's annoying
- we celebrated Mom's birthday at the Outback with some chicken, steak and white tulips
- I saw my friend Amy twice in one day (not surprising, really, since she lives across the road and our kids go to the same school)
- David fixed the light above the shower.  (somewhere there is a choir singing, cause it was dark in there yo)
- Emma had a solid poop.  It was gross.  And most likely because of peas.
- I need to work on patience.
- I have no patience
- I could probably take a nap in the middle of I-40 and not be fazed
- I have road rage that makes it difficult not to get upset at other drivers
- Emma is the cutest kid I have ever seen and can't believe she's ours
- Our trees are starting to bloom - our first spring in the new house, and Emma's first spring as a baby!
- I love tournament time, it is my favorite time of year next to Christmas.
- I am already preparing for Emma's first birthday.  Is that sad or just good preparations?  Both I guess.
- I really really want to nap for about 3 weeks.
- That Dan LeBatard guy and his dad on ESPN are hilarious.  Si or no?
- Welcome to Myrtle Manor.  Enough said.
- I love Emma more and more every day and wish that time would pause so I can enjoy her at this stage longer.  She's just wonderful.  When she's not fussy.
