PORKER

Thursday, March 14, 2013

mma and I made it through our sickness, but there are some definite aftershocks that accompanied it.  I think Emma is eating fine, but my pumping had diminished a great deal the week after we got sick.  I am now drinking mother's milk tea (I hate tea) and going to make some oatmeal (I like the kind in the packet with the sugar, not this make your own stuff) and doing power pumps (an hour that I would prefer to be a power hour with rum).  I think my milk is coming back as it was, but that was a stressful time.  I know I hate pumping and am sometimes tired of being tied to her mealtimes, but I wanted to be the one who made the decision to call it quits.  (side note, I am going Office Space on this breast pump when I'm done)  She is still taking her antibiotic and the associated probiotic.  She does not like the amoxicillin.  She doesn't know about the probiotic.  Emma 1, Medicine 1.

She is now eating us out of house and home.  As much as a 7 month old can do.  3/4 of a jar of sweet potatoes and then eats more before bed and then wakes up at 12 for a topper.  I don't think she's anorexic at school, but I'm not sure where she's putting all these potatoes.  David says they actually taste good.  He's also eaten Gracie's dog treats, so who knows.  We let her try peas last night.  Hope she likes them, we have a buttload of jars.  Eventually soon I want to start trying to make her some food, but for now, we're the jar food people.

She's full of smiles and absolutely is in love with her Jumperoo.  Her teachers say EVERY day how smart and advanced she is, especially compared to the other kids.  She pushes herself to a sitting position in the bouncer and stands straight up in the exersaucer.  She does calculus problems before taking her nap.  Amazing kid, little Emma.

My job is changing.  Again.  I couldn't be further from where I started.  We'll see how this goes.  But at least I have a job and Emma can continue to wear diapers.
David again celebrated Bang Bang Wednesday at Bonefish Grill.  We like to get take out Bang Bang Shrimp since it's only $5 on Wednesdays.  What I didn't know is that David made me my own version of it when I got home.  IT WAS SO GOOD.  No wonder people love Bang Bang Shrimp.  And no wonder I love David!

My mom would have turned 64 tomorrow.  I am so sad that she isn't here to enjoy her granddaughter and to celebrate the things we've done with our lives.  She didn't get to see me get married or have Emma.  She didn't get to see our first grown up house.  I miss her.  Happy Birthday Mom, I love you and hope you're proud of me!
