After last week's craziness, we have finally reached a calming period that is really anything but calming. Our due diligence on our house expired yesterday at 5 pm, so we have officially started packing! Gracie seems to be doing better. I am so relieved and am soaking up the little puppy while I still can. We are supposed to be closing on both homes on June 8. Here's what's going on until then:
1. Packing. We still have a lot of stuff I didn't really think about. That's not including storage, Dad's house, Janis' house or my trunk.
2. Finding movers. We theoretically have to have a truck packed with all of our belongings the night before closing. And then have said truck be driven to our new house after our closing the following day. Is that even possible???
3. Wedding pictures. We still haven't picked them out for our album. Oops.
4. Doctor appointments. I am still having a baby and would really like to make sure she is still there and healthy. Especially after this period of ridiculousness.
5. Work. I have a crap ton of swim meets. I have no weekends free between now and when we move. I also have a three day event on closing day and the remaining weekend when we will be moving into our new house. So glad I can be helpful during this transition in our lives.
6. Do you know what accent color should go with pale yellow? We don't either and really need to figure that out before the move.
7. Fixing the stuff at our house. We have inspection items that need fixing, three are easy. One could prove disastrous. Fingers crossed.
8. Gracie needs grooming. She looks like a brown bear. I was too worried to subject her to a spa visit, but now I think it's necessary. I love that little girl.
9. Registering for a stroller. I still don't know what we want. I think a Maclaren?
10. Spray tan. I am WHITE. What I wouldn't give for a few days at the tanning bed. But alas, I am all about helping the baby come out with all its toes. So I bought some spray stuff. It might be working. I might look like the Syracuse mascot.
We are so excited about this house and cannot wait until we move in and make it our own. The master bathroom is phenomenal. JETS in the tub and a floating glass shower door. The deck is expansive and should hold everything grill related, a big deal for David. The garage is actually a garage and I can park in there and not scrape my windows when it's cold. We can host Christmas, complete with Egg Nog and vodka tonics, because we have space and a bar area!
I hope I start to feel the baby kick me soon. She might have already and I've just chalked it up to Mexican food. I need to eat less Mexican food. The baby is going to come out screaming for tacos and queso. I'm going to start telling her now that yelling doesn't get what she wants, maybe it will translate when she's out of me.
Pray for us, this month is going to suck and be awesome all at the same time.
