WE'RE NOT WASTING ANY TIME HERE

I took a deliberate break from the blogging for some good reasons, and some lazy reasons.  Since I've been gone, some things have transpired:

1. David smoked more meat (shocking, I know).
2. My hatred of Duke jumped up a notch after Mr. Rivers single-handedly ruined my February 8.
3. We put our house BACK on the market (someone buy the thing already).
4. We confirmed via doctor and Walgreens test that we are having a baby August 23.

So, as you see, we've been busy even while not getting on the internet to document it.  As you can also see, this may turn more into my journal of all things baby than all things pork.

It turns out that David and I had a great Thanksgiving.  We decided to start trying to have a baby and see where it took us - let's be honest, my clock is getting close to losing its ticker.  I figured it would take a while.  Let's just say that David and I are overachievers.  The doctor said it usually takes a year or so.  That's what I had planned on.  But....

I did three tests from Walgreens on December 30-31.  Three were in a box, it wasn't like I was going to waste them.  David was thrilled.  I got nervous.  We had invited our parents for New Year's Day dinner of ham, blackeye peas and collards and decided that we'd tell them that night of my prowess on the pee tests.  His Mom screamed.  Dad just looked confused until it sunk in.

Since then, we've seen the baby, I have felt the effects of the baby and I am starting to get more anxious and excited about becoming a family of three.  Gracie doesn't really know yet, but she'll be in for a surprise.  David's birthday is approximately 2 days before the due date, so I hope he likes his gift.

We were contemplating getting a new cocker spaniel puppy to keep Gracie company.  We even went to look at some puppies.

This is not a puppy.
