That's how I partied this past week of my birthday.
Nothing says birthday week like getting a massage, a pedicure, dinner out,
lunch with coworkers, new boots and a pass on stinky diaper duty for a couple
of days. That last one was probably the most worth it.
David went to pick up Emma last Tuesday and called me on his way home. Apparently Miss Tenay told him that "Tomorrow, Miss Gail wants to see whoever drops off Emma in the morning." Well then. I believe that's the first time I've been called to the principal's office. And for the next 18 hours, we panicked. I swore she was getting kicked out of school and we would have to find something to do with her and we don't have anyone or anywhere that we can turn to and OH MY WORD the stress. Because apparently, she had bitten another kid the day or two before and had drawn blood. Well, the other kid latched onto Em's ear. I took pictures. I am no fool. But anyway, I was slightlyoverreacting
concerned that Emma would be asked to take her biting self someplace else.
I figured all the kids bit each other, I mean, that's how David and I both got along in school. Emma has been known to put some of the older boys in a headlock and take them to the ground. I think we're vacillating between pride and "ooooh sorry about that." Turned out Miss Gail just wanted to touch base about the biting and make sure we knew about it. We came up with a gameplan to try to stop the biting, which actually didn't include biting her back. She was understanding, we were relieved of our stress and things were great when she said "They all bite and we can't kick them all out since we wouldn't have any kids left."
Miss P is their prized pupil, so we should have known they weren't going to kick her out. So, happy birthday, here let me go buy you some Bojangles.

THEN,
I didn't have to change poop diapers for a day or so. THEN, my Dad made
me a cake....Meredith brought me a cupcake....and David brought me 6
cupcakes. I love cake.
And it gets better, we went to eat at Lilly's Pizza (I heart LP). And then the next day, David wanted to buy me a gun. But I said, no thanks, I would rather have these here boots. And lo, David bought me some Frye boots!!! It's the Christmas miracle we've all been waiting for.
I am in love with my boots. In love with David. And in love with Emma. An Emma who still has a place to go during the day so Mommy and Daddy can make money for more boots!
