Turns out
there was a good reason Emma lost her shit struggled this weekend.
Baby girl has not one, but two ear infections. Since she only has the two
ears, that's a problem. One of them is much worse than the other - it's
the one that I thought had some issues due to her cheek being pink.
Clearly, I should be a practicing physician with those kinds of
diagnoses.
Anyway, the kid's now on amoxicillin again, the pink liquid not invented for babies to enjoy. She hates taking medicine or really anything in general that doesn't come from me, a bottle or her fingers. If someone could figure out how to shoot antibiotics out of a nipple, I think there'd be some cash in that. My goals are as follows: get the medicine to work quickly so that we can get some sleep, try to prevent the runny poop and rash that accompanies such medicines, and to get some good snuggle time in with the little monkey. I guess that last one is a standing goal.
David let me go to bed at 8:30 last night. The sun was still in the sky. It was wonderful.
I hope Emma wraps up this ear infection thing, I really don't want her to keep suffering with them. When she suffers, we all do. And I really don't want to have to put tubes in her ears. She's too delicate for such a big girl procedure. And I am honestly just too sleepy to want to deal with that.
Outside of that, she has been pretty jovial when in an upright position. We provided toys and food, and she managed to crawl her way over to David's drink (which he carefully had left on the carpet next to the chair). Thank goodness the drink was Strawberry Fanta and I am so pleased that Emma knocked over the whole thing. What made it better is the amount in the cup. It was full!!! Yikes.
David looked over and yelled out an obscenity, and then said "I forgot she moves around now." Haha!! The kid isn't walking yet and our carpet is already pink, the dog has banana puffs on her back and she's ended up crawling into the kitchen on numerous occasions. This should be fun in the coming years for sure!
